Is this a RAG system?

Retrieval-augmented generation, often called RAG, retrieves relevant source material before producing an answer. A usable business platform also needs permissions, update processes, evaluation and an interface.

What if the documents do not answer the question?

The agreed behaviour should identify insufficient evidence rather than improvise a confident answer. A human escalation route and source-update process complete that boundary.
